Epernay Champagne Tour Highlights

Boarding your train at Gare d'Est in Paris, you'll be bound for the Champagne region, where Dom Perignon, father of the house of Moet and Chandon, started it all.  Upon arrival in the city of Reims, you'll start the day with a quick tour of the Reims Cathedral,  Notre Dame de Reims, where all but two French kings were crowned.

Your next stop is at the Grande Maison de Champagne Veuve Clicquot for a tour and champagne tasting in the unique chalk stone cellars. You will learn about the visionary young widow Madame Barbe Clicquot Ponsardin.  She built an empire, and truly became the “Grande Dame” of champagne.

Now, it is time for a delightful champagne tasting lunch.  Enjoy local specialties as you taste three different delicious champagnes (Blanc de blancs, Blanc de noirs and Rosé).

Next, you'll travel to the historic Marne Valley and the former Benedictine Abbey of Hautvillers, where Dom Perignon is buried.  You will then finish with a tour and tasting at the Moet and Chandon cellars.

An open bottle of Moet & Chandon with a cork to the side.

After the last tasting you'll take the train back to Paris in perfect time for dinner, or dare we say, more champagne.

What's included in the tour?

  • All entrance fees.
  • Lunch.
  • Champagne tastings at Moet & Chandon, during lunch, and at Veuve Clicqout.
